During the summer of 2017, I was fortunate enough to intern for my employer, The West Shore School District. My supervisor and mentor during the internship was Mr. Christopher Champion, Coordinator of Instructional Technology. My internship was planned out for me well in advance, and it had four main areas: delivery of professional development to teachers and staff, configuring and deploying hardware devices, analyzing and assisting with network infrastructure projects, and data entry/analysis of student information systems projects. The West Shore School District provides technology-enhanced professional development for teachers and staff. I took pride in helping to plan and teach several of these sessions in collaboration with Mr. Champion and our three Instructional Advisors for Technology. I provided extensive support with Chromebook setup and assembly of classroom storage carts. I also helped develop a website to help the staff learn how to use the Chrome OS. Additionally, I helped plan and run network lines in a high school business education classroom. Several software packages that the District uses require importing data from the student information system. I had the opportunity to access this data, export student information, normalize and sort data, and upload data to the software packages. This data was also used in setting up our new cyber school program that our district is providing through the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. Please click the blue buttons below to take a closer look at some of the artifacts from my experiences with professional development and student information systems. There are also two picture carousels documenting my network/infrastructure upgrades and the several hardware and device deployments. Finally, my dispositions assessment is available for viewing below. It is a reflection statement on gathered evidence of disposition surveys including self-evaluations, from both E.S.U and Walden University (MS Ed. in Integrating Technology in the Classroom).
